The MS8108CA is designed for use with Sun and SGI computers that utilize a 13W3 video output connector. It offers DIP switches built into the 13W3 connector that allow setting different sync format and operating modes for these computers when connected directly.
The MS8110CA is designed for use with Sun, SGI, and Power PC computers except for the Sun Ultra and Sun Voyager. The new Sun Ultra and Voyager have a different pin-outs which provide Horizontal and Vertical Sync. Previous Sun pin-outs provided only Composite Sync. This cable also offers DIP switches that enable setting different operating modes when it is connected to the computer directly.
