There are numerous varieties of computers, computer video cards, data monitors, and large-screen data projectors on the market. Displaying a computer image on a large-screen data projector or a large-screen monitor may not be feasible as compatibility may be problematic. The MX2100AV is designed to resolve compatibility issues.
The MX2100AV is a 2-In 1-Out VGA through QXGA + Audio auto-switcher with front-panel push-button override, as well as manual remote control capability through dual momentary contact closure switches. It is designed to interface 2 computer video sources to 2 compatible presentation displays or data projectors. Each input can be connected to different types of computers simultaneously.
The MX2100AV is an auto-switcher: in the absence of manual control, it can automatically switch to the active input source by sensing an incoming signal. If two inputs are active, the MX2100AV defaults to Input #2.
The MX2100AV offers both a main and local output. The main output passes the selected source computer video signal. The local output passes the selected input, but can be over-ridden and always pass Input #1. Both video outputs are fully buffered, and offer full video equalization, capable of compensating for cable lengths up to 300 ft (91m). Cable runs less than 50ft (15m) may cause the display to appear too bright or "hot" on the receiving devices. ALTINEX recommends using a minimum cable length of 50ft (15m).
In addition to switching between VGA-type signals, the MX2100AV also switches stereo audio signals, providing 2, 3.5mm stereo mini input jacks. One 3.5mm local monitor jack is always looped to Input #1. The main, balanced stereo audio output is a 5pin terminal block that follows the video input.
