The MS8103CA and MS8111CA cables adapt a MAC connector to 5 BNC connectors. A set of DIP switches built into the 15-pin D connector enables the user to pre-set the cable to pass RGsB, RGBS, or RGBHV.
Also, the DIP switches allow the user to enable different boot-up modes for MAC computers by affecting ID bit status.
MAC computers use ID Bits to determine the type of local monitor that has been connected to the video output. When a local monitor is not connected, these DIP switches allow emulation of a particular monitor type. In some cases, this is necessary to insure that the computer outputs video. In other cases, it is done to force the output to a specific mode.
Connectors on the MS8103CA and MS8111CA are molded for high durability. The 15-pin D connector offers finger-type lock down screws. The MS8103CA and MS8111CA utilize High Resolution coaxes internally.
