The MS8115CA and MS8116CA are designed for use with Sun computers only. They are NOT compatible with SGI or Power PC computers.
The MS8115CA and MS8116CA are designed to pass Composite Sync only. They are NOT compatible with new Sun Ultra and Voyager computers which typically provide Horizontal and Vertical Sync on their video output ports.
These cables are perfect for straightforward Sun to RGBS adaptation. They do not utilize DIP switches. This limits their capabilities, but also provides a simple solution for situations where the added functionality is neither required nor desired.
