The MT103-115 is a 2-In, 2-Out VGA to Twisted Pair Transmitter card designed for use in MultiTaskers ®. When installed in a MultiTasker, the MT103-115 card transmits computer video signals over Twisted Pair CAT5-type cable (Category 5, 5e, 6) when used together with an ALTINEX Twisted Pair Computer Video Receiver card, such as the MT103-116.
This is a recognized alternative to the traditional use of RGB or VGA type multi-channel coaxial cable, since CAT-5 cable is thinner, more flexible, and less costly than multi-channel coaxial cable. Also, many facilities already having an existing CAT-5 cable infrastructure will find reduced labor costs and intrusion required for retrofits. The MT103-115 offers two female 15pin HD input connectors (Plug & Play compatible with built-in EDID), and two female RJ45 output connectors. The MT103-115 can transmit signal resolutions between VGA and UXGA. Used together with an MT103-116 ALTINEX Twisted Pair Computer Video Receiver card and properly adjusted with the built-in equalization controls, the maximum cable distance is approximately 500feet/152meters for VGA (640 x 480, 60 Hz refresh rate) and 250feet/ 76meters for UXGA (1600 x 1200, 60 Hz refresh rate).
